Why Judo?
- Judo is primarily a recreational sport, although there is an Judo elite level of participation which includes the Olympic Games.
- Chief Instructors in Dojo’s (place to practice Judo) at most black belt levels are also trained to NCCP (National Coaching Certification Program) standards. Training includes scheduling, nutrition, techniques and games strategy.
- Of all sports, the practice of and the exercises in Judo have been found to burn the most calories per practice session. A practice session usually lasts for a bit over an hour, using up about 500 calories.
- Judo helps one to handle stress by directing one’s energy / handling personal depression / anger. Judo teaches the practitioner to focus on the here and now.
- Regular practice in Judo sessions will build physical fitness in men, women and kids of all ages.
- Judo teaches participants of all ages to be self confident through building on small personal achievements in the sport.
- Judo eventually teaches personal self defense through participation in active sport combat in recreational competition.
- Effective Judo results come primarily from competition
yourself, and only thereafter with your opponent in future competitions.
- The people of Judo are friendly, and helpful in a games playing way which is also an active interpersonal social form of entertainment.
- Instructors are trained to provide personal training if asked.
