A production of Kazenoko Theatre Company of Tokyo, Japan this playful interactive performance is about a little boy, Tetchan, who plays with his favourite train toy and accidentally falls into a hole - the entrance to the Wonder World! Performers interact with children in the audience and use their suggestions to develop the story. With this participatory approach, children talk and dance with Tetchan and experience Tetchan’s adventure together.
“Children may find it difficult to develop their real kindness, courage, cheerfulness, and rich expression without feeling security, trust, and self-confidence…This show gives children an opportunity to create a trusting relationship with performers by playing together… They’ll be able to go back to their own world with a little bit more confidence. I made this show hoping to encourage children to be more cheerful with a smile. - Yasue Omori, Director
These performances received a great reputation for children’s theatre bridging language barriers.
